Michigan defense produces awesome scoop-and-score to take early lead over Minnesota
After a rocky start, Michigan has created a couple big plays to give itself the early lead in its primetime matchup over Minnesota.
The first was a 70-yard touchdown by running back Zach Charbonnet to tie the game at 7-7.
Then, after a missed field goal by Michigan, the Wolverines smoked Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan and ended up with a defensive touchdown.

That was Michael Barrett with the hit on Morgan and Donovan Jeter with the recovery and touchdown.
The right side of Minnesota’s offensive line is dealing with a couple injuries, as normal starters Daniel Faalele and guard Curtis Dunlap Jr. are unavailable. Still, the Gophers have to do a better job of protecting Morgan.
While he hasn’t had to do anything spectacular, quarterback Joe Milton got off to a solid start. He completed 4-of-6 passes for 46 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter.
The Wolverines were 3-point favorites over Minnesota heading into this contest.
