Maryland has canceled this weekend’s game against Ohio State due to COVID-19.
The Terps have paused all team activities due to an increased number of coronavirus cases. The Big Ten has now canceled three games this season.
“We’re obviously extremely disappointed that we’ll be unable to host Ohio State this Saturday,” head coach Mike Locksley said in a statement.
Ohio State’s next game will be in Week 5 vs. No. 10 Indiana.
The announcement prompted reaction from fans and media who are both surprised at the outcome and frustrated with Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren for how the offseason was handled.
Here’s some of that reaction:
Ohio Staye at Maryland game cancelled. Will not be made up because of @B1G ludicrous schedule of no bye weeks. #KevinWarrenStrikesAgain.

Again, it's absolutely crazy that the Big Ten felt like it could try to do this without any off dates built into the schedule.
Also, I'm a broken record at this point, but the College Football Playoff needs to be pushed back. https://t.co/WCXTSJJwDI— Austin Ward (@AWardSports) November 11, 2020
