Northwestern is not going to let it go.

By now, you’ve probably heard about the fuel that lit Northwestern’s fire ahead of Saturday’s showdown against B1G West foe Wisconsin. ESPN analyst Joey Galloway said the Wildcats were like a “bunch of Rece Davises,” something head coach Pat Fitzgerald called “disrespectful.”

So, all week, the ‘Cats used that comment as fuel. The phrase “Fightin’ Rece Davises” was used all week through practice. And after Northwestern posted a 17-7 victory over Wisconsin, Fitzgerald called out Galloway for the comment.

Now, Northwestern’s social media account is taking it a step further. The social media department is taking a step further, changing its profile name from “Northwestern Football,” to “Fightin’ Rece Davises.” Here’s a screenshot:

Talk about bulletin board material. Northwestern appears prepared to use that one comment for the rest of the season.

Northwestern is 5-0 this season and appears poised to make a return to the B1G Championship Game. The Wildcats still have games scheduled against Michigan State (1-3), Minnesota (2-3) and Illinois (2-3). Assuming there are major shifts late in the season, they’ll likely take on Ohio State in a rematch of the 2018 title game.
