Report: B1G AD’s expected to allow Ohio State to play in B1G Championship Game with 5-0 record

It appears Ohio State will get to play in the Big Ten Championship Game after all.
Despite a 5-0 record heading into a Week 8 matchup with Michigan that’s in serious jeopardy due to COVID-19, the Buckeyes will reportedly be allowed to represent the Big Ten East in the conference title game.
That’s per Stadium’s Brett McMurphy, who says Big Ten athletic directors are expected to change the previous rule that said teams needed to play a minimum of six games to win a division title.

Despite the lack of games played, Ohio State has remained in the top four of the College Football Playoff rankings.
Earlier this week, Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez implied that the conference may come to this decision.
Alvarez also floated the idea of giving Ohio State a different opponent in Week 8 to ensure the Buckeyes can play the required six games.
It’s possible Michigan will be able to pull it off, but officials said earlier this week they are “pessimistic” about that matchup given their current COVID-19 situation.
Ohio State defeated Michigan State 52-12 to move to 5-0 on Saturday.
