Kristen Saban Setas, the daughter of Alabama head coach Nick Saban, has issued an apology for her earlier tweet claiming that Ohio State is faking the current COVID-19 issues within the football program.

In the tweet that has since been deleted, she labeled the report of COVID-19 issues with the Buckeyes as just a ploy to get Buckeyes quarterback Justin Fields more healthy. Fields was banged up in the win against Clemson on Saturday night but ended up staying in the game.

Here is the apology:

As her statement says, she let her anger get the best of her and fired off the tweet before she even thought of it. She also ended up deleting her account for a little bit after the fact before reactivating it.

It’ll be interesting to see if this becomes some bulletin board material for the Buckeyes in their quest to upset the Crimson Tide. Either way, an apology was certainly in order for her wild and off-base claims.

Kickoff for the game is still set for 8 p.m. ET on Monday and it will be televised by ESPN.
