Illinois picked up its second commitment of the day on Thursday afternoon.

3-star running back Jordan Anderson committed to the Illini via Twitter:

Anderson joins 3-star tight end Henry Boyer, who committed to Illinois on Thursday morning.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Anderson is the No. 75 running back in the country for the class of 2022.

Anderson becomes Illinois’ fourth in-state prospect to commit to Bret Bielema’s program. He attends Joliet Catholic Academy in Joliet, Illinois.

Illinois’ 2022 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 31 nationally and No. 6 in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Anderson is the eighth commitment for this class.

Expect Anderson to be a powerful runner in Illinois’ backfield. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds.

The Early Signing Period for the 2022 cycle is in December.
