One hoops prospect for the class of 2022 released his top 7 Saturday, keeping two B1G teams still in the running.

The player is Connor Essegian, a shooting guard out of Albion, Indiana. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 180 lbs., Essegian included Wisconsin and Minnesota on his updated cuts. Other schools he is considering include Creighton, Butler, and Wake Forest.

Essegian has not been rated by the industry-generated composite rankings. However, 247 Sports lists Essegian as a 3-star prospect, the 11th-best player out of Indiana, and the 45th best shooting guard prospect nationally for the class of 2022.

Both Minnesota and Wisconsin still have plenty of work to do for their 2022 recruiting classes. For the Badgers, they are still without a commitment for the cycle.

Minnesota recently picked up its first commitment for the cycle. In-state shooting guard Braeden Carrington committed to the Gophers on Wednesday.

It will be interesting to see how Essegian’s recruitment shapes up.
