9 B1G teams go bowling in Athlon Sports’ preseason bowl predictions for 2022

With the calendar flipping to August, the 2022 college football season is in full view for fans across the country. While most of the action ramps up in September, games will officially start in Week 0 on Aug. 27.

Heading into the season, every fanbase has high expectations for the year. Regardless of the past, the preseason presents a time for fans to expect growth and look forward to a winning season.

Of course, not every team can reach their goals for the season. Recently, Athlon Sports unveiled their preseason bowl projections across the country. Those projections include 9 teams from the B1G playing in the postseason.

Among those projections, 2 teams from the conference are expected to make the New Year’s Six with 1 team playing for a national championship. Here are those teams projected to go bowling:

  • Quick Lane Bowl (Dec. 26): Minnesota vs. Central Michigan
  • Guaranteed Rate Bowl (Dec. 27): Kansas State vs. Nebraska
  • Pinstripe Bowl (Dec. 29): North Carolina vs. Purdue
  • Duke’s Mayo Bowl (Dec. 30): Penn State vs. Florida State
  • Music City Bowl (Dec. 31): Iowa vs. Arkansas
  • Reliaquest Bowl (Jan. 2): Michigan State vs. Kentucky
  • Citrus Bowl (Jan. 2): Wisconsin vs. Tennessee
  • Rose Bowl (Jan. 2): Michigan vs. Utah
  • Fiesta Bowl CFP Semifinal (Dec. 31): Ohio State vs. Georgia
  • CFB National Championship (Jan. 9): Alabama vs. Ohio State
