A College GameDay tradition could come to an end at Walt Disney World
College GameDay decided to take the popular pregame show to a unique destination: Walt Disney World.
That’s right, for Week 0, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstriet, Desmond Howard, Rece Davis and the rest of the gang will be setting up from Disney’s Magic Kingdom, the “Happiest Place on Earth.” It’ll preview the Aug. 24 highly-anticipated matchup between Miami and Florida from Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
It won’t be the traditional College GameDay we’re used to seeing, though. Because it’s at Magic Kingdom, no signs or flags will be allowed inside the park, taking away the best part of the pregame show.

If there are no flags or signs permitted, that means that the Washington State flag — named “Ol’ Crimson — will not be seen in the background. It has been on site for every College GameDay showing since Oct. 4, 2003, when the show aired from Austin, Texas.
Ol’ Crimson has made 224 straight appearances on the show.
Hopefully ESPN and Walt Disney World — since it’s the same company after all — will figure out a way to get the Wazzu flag into the background. Otherwise, the “Happiest Place on Earth” may ruin the day for so many college football fans.
