An official schedule for the B1G’s reinstated has not been released at this time, but a framework is in place and was discussed on Wednesday morning during a virtual press conference, televised on Big Ten Network.

With the B1G making the decision to reinstate the fall football season for 2020, the league will have to make some adjustments to its previously-revised schedule, which was released in early August. Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez said that the plan is already in place, but a full schedule won’t be released until later in the week.

The B1G season will begin the weekend of Oct. 23-24 and each team will play eight games, with a plus-one model on “Championship Weekend.” The winner of the East Division will face the winner of the West Division for the B1G title, as it always does. However, the other 12 teams will also be in competition on Dec. 19, as well.

Here’s what that model will look like:

  • East No. 1 vs. West No. 1 (B1G Championship Game)
  • East No. 2 vs. West No. 2
  • East No. 3 vs. West No. 3
  • East No. 4 vs. West No. 4
  • East No. 5 vs. West No. 5
  • East No. 6 vs. West No. 6
  • East No. 7 vs. West No. 7
