FOX Sports has been at the top of its game recently, getting fans ready for the 2019 season with some interesting lists. On Wednesday, it named the best state in college football based on win percentage. Thursday, it revealed which states ranked highest with all-time wins.
One B1G state made the list, but it’s probably not the one you’d think it be. In fact, the state that ranks highest among those with a B1G program is actually known for its basketball.
That’s right, Indiana ranks No. 4 overall in all-time wins in college football. It ranks behind Texas, California and North Carolina. It edges out Florida.
FOX Sports took into account total wins for Power Five programs, as well as Notre Dame, to come up with the numbers. Texas was No. 1 by a large margin, posting 3,463 all-time wins, followed by California with 2,765 victories.
Combined, Purdue, Indiana and Notre Dame account for 1,995 all-time victories. That’s fourth-highest and the best of any B1G state. A bit surprising.
