Big Ten individual honors are out as we wrapped up the regular season with a dramatic Rivalry Week in Week 14.

With 4 new teams joining the B1G this season, the conference delivered an incredibly exciting season that will be capped off with Oregon and Penn State playing in Indianapolis.

Before we get there, the B1G announced the individual offensive honors for the 2024 season. Let’s get into the yearly honors.

Offensive Player/QB of the Year

  • Dillon Gabriel, Oregon QB

Gabriel transferred in from Oklahoma, and put together a terrific 2024 season as the Ducks went undefeated through the regular season. On the season, Gabriel threw for 3,275 yards, 24 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions. He also made his presence felt running the ball, where he added 7 more touchdowns.

In the Ducks’ biggest win of the season against Ohio State, Gabriel threw for 341 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also adding 32 rushing yards and another score.

Gabriel has a chance to add to his legacy at Oregon, as he has the B1G championship game against Penn State as well as what Oregon fans hope is a long run in the College Football Playoff.

Running Back of the Year

  • Kaleb Johnson, Iowa, RB

Johnson put together a special junior campaign for the Hawkeyes, as he finished with 1,537 yards and 21 rushing touchdowns. He also added another 188 receiving yards, including a 72-yard touchdown catch in the rivalry win against Nebraska in Week 14.

His biggest game of the season came in a win against Minnesota early in the season. Johnson carried the ball 21 times for 206 yards and 3 touchdowns in the game.

He finished the regular season with the 4th-most rushing yards in the country while leading the B1G. What makes Johnson’s year so impressive is the Hawkeyes averaged only 131.6 passing yards, so he was constantly seeing 8 or even 9-man boxes.

Wide Receiver of the Year

  • Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State, WR

Smith burst onto the scene in 2024 for the Buckeyes, instantly becoming 1 of the most electric players in the country despite being only a freshman.

He finished his first season with 53 catches for 934 yards and 10 touchdowns. The touchdowns and yards are now a record for any freshman receiver in Ohio State history. He has caught a touchdown in 9 of the Buckeyes’ 12 games this year and teams up with Emeka Egbuka to form the best receiving duo in all of college football.

While the Buckeyes won’t be playing in the B1G championship after losing to Michigan, college football fans across the country still figure to get the opportunity to watch Smith in the CFP.

Tight End of the Year

  • Tyler Warren, Penn State, TE

The Nittany Lions have finally broken through and made the B1G Championship Game for the first time since 2016, and Warren is a huge reason why. Warren finished the year with 81 catches for 978 yards and 6 touchdowns.

He had 1 of the best games for any player in college football history, as he had 17 catches for 224 yards and 1 touchdown against USC. That tied a record for the most catches ever by a tight end in FBS play.

James Franklin has long been singing the praise of his tight end, as he has said numerous times that he is the best tight end in the country and deserves serious Heisman Trophy consideration.

Warren and the Nittany Lions will be in action Saturday against Oregon in the B1G Championship, and then he will also get to lead his team in the CFP.

Offensive Lineman of the Year

  • Aireontae Ersery, Minnesota, OL

The B1G is known as a smashmouth, physical conference that produces some of the best offensive linemen each year. This year, it was no different, and Ersery stood out among many other great players.

He has been a key part of Minnesota’s offense for some time, as he has started the last 3 years. This year, he started all 12 games at left tackle for a Golden Gophers team that went 7-5.

Ersery was injured in the win against Wisconsin this past weekend, so there is a good chance that he won’t play another game for Minnesota as he is expected to go to the NFL.
