Samford jumped to a 21-14 lead over Florida at the end of the first quarter. Florida’s defense continued to be unable to stop Samford’s offense throughout the first half. Samford went into halftime with a 42-35 lead over Florida.

Florida had a big third quarter by scoring 21-unanswered points before outscoring Samford 35-10 in the second half. Florida finished the game with a 70-52 win over Samford. After the game, the players for Florida celebrated the win over the FCS program with six losses in the season.
