FOX Sports analyst RJ Young releases preseason college football tiers; 1 B1G team in Tier 1
R.J. Young has cut a rather controversial figure among Michigan fans, but the FOX Sports analyst was back on Thursday with his tiers of college football teams ahead of the 2022 season.

One B1G team made the first tier, and it wasn’t a surprise: Ohio State, which was slotted along with Alabama, Georgia, and Texas A&M. The Buckeyes finished 11-2 (8-1 B1G) and, despite a loss to Michigan to cost themselves a shot at the B1G Championship Game and a potential College Football Playoff bid, defeated Utah in the Rose Bowl Game. Michigan State was placed in Tier 2 along with Utah, Notre Dame, and Baylor, while Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin all found themselves in Tier 4 with Houston, Ole Miss, and Texas.
There was one B1G team that missed out altogether, and that was Michigan. You’ll recall that Young left the Wolverines out of his preseason top 25 despite the AP poll putting them at No. 8 after a College Football Playoff berth last year.
If Young wanted to smooth things over with Wolverines fans, his latest list probably won’t help.
