The FCS National Championship is heating up and coming down to the wire in the fourth quarter.

The showdown between Sam Houston State and South Dakota State has been a good one since both teams hit the field following a lengthy weather delay. That delay was over an hour halfway through the second quarter and eliminated the traditional halftime break between the second and third quarters.

Just before halftime, Sam Houston took the lead on a beautiful route and touchdown catch by Jequez Ezzard. He has two touchdowns on the day with the Bearkats also tacking on a field goal to make the score 17-7 at one point.

Fortunately, the Jackrabbits had an answer. Playing without starting quarterback Mark Gronowski who was injured early, South Dakota State went to its ground attack to find some success.

Running back Isaiah Davis finally found a groove and was able to cap off a drive with a dramatic run. He broke multiple tackles while going 28 yards for a score that pulled the Jackrabbits within three points in the fourth quarter:
