Alabama’s Mac Jones has long been the favorite to be picked at No. 3 overall, but that has apparently changed as of Thursday morning.
With just hours to go before the 2021 NFL Draft, North Dakota State’s Trey Lance is now the favorite to be picked at No. 3 by the San Fransisco 49ers.

Caesar’s Sportsbook also has Lance as the favorite now:
According to Caesar's: Trey Lance is now the favorite for the third pick to the #49ers at -120. Mac Jones is next at +110.

This would significantly shake up the draft and could impact where Ohio State’s Justin Fields ultimately lands. Fields was briefly thought to be a contender for the No. 3 pick a couple of weeks ago, but that notion was quickly abandoned.
Most draft analysts have already filed their final mock drafts for the 2021 cycle, and have Fields landing with Denver or New England. However, Lance going No. 3 overall instead of Jones could change things.
Fields is likely to be picked somewhere between No. 4 overall and No. 9 overall.
The draft starts on Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET.
