One defender for the class of 2022 is down to two schools and he recently set a commitment date for his college decision.

The player is Kevin Winston, a three-star defensive back out of Hyattsville, Maryland. In June, Winston announced that his decision was down to Maryland and Penn State after receiving Power 5 offers from across the country that included Michigan State and Boston College.

According to 247 Sports, Winston revealed this week that he will make his decision on July 31. He has taken official visits to both the Terrapins and Nittany Lions.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 lbs., the 247 Sports Composite Rankings have Winston as the No. 43 safety nationally and the No. 17 prospect out of Maryland for the class of 2022.

As things currently stand, Penn State holds the No. 2 recruiting class nationally and in the B1G. The Nittany Lions also added three-star Jordan Allen on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see if Allen’s commitment has an impact on Winston’s upcoming decision. Maryland’s recruiting class currently has just 12 commitments and is ranked 43rd nationally.
