Miami-Florida Week 0 matchup delivers ESPN's highest-rated CFB game in nearly 3 years
There were a ton of eyes on Miami and Florida on Saturday night. The premier matchup celebrating the 150th year of college football had several viewers across the country getting their first taste of the season.
According to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, the Miami-Florida matchup from Orlando on Saturday night delivered a 4.1 overnight rating. That mark is the highest for ESPN for a college football game since November 2016.
Not a bad way to start the year for ESPN and college football.

The play between the Gators and Hurricanes left something to be desired, but hey, it’s the first Saturday of the season. What did we expect?

Florida posted a 24-20 victory over Miami in a game that came down to the final minute. The Hurricanes had a chance to pull off a major upset over the eighth-ranked Gators, but fell a few plays short.
We’ll see if any game on ESPN this season tops the one we saw in Week 0.
