Well, despite Nebraska’s president saying an announcement was coming and an earlier report suggesting a final decision had been made, it appears we’ll have to wait at least another day until the Big Ten reports its plan of action.

Tuesday evening, Yahoo’s Pete Thamel reported that there has been no indication that an announcement will come, or even that a decision has been made. He did state, however, that there is still a lot of optimism surrounding the idea of playing in the fall.

“No official word about a Big Ten restart has trickled down to Big Ten coaches,” Thamel said. “Many programs have been proceeding/planning the past few days for an Oct. 17 star, pending the upcoming vote/decision. There remains a lot of hope and optimism. But no official green light, yet.”

On Tuesday morning, Nebraska President Ted Carter was speaking with an individual prior to a press conference, when a microphone picked up his comment, “We’re getting ready to announce the Huskers and B1G football tonight.”

Later that day, Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that he confirmed a decision had been made and an announcement was coming.

Instead, it appears we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer until a final decision is reached and an announcement made.
