The Pac-12 has a decision to make, and it will apparently make it soon.

Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff said on Friday that his conference will announce their conference realignment intentions — or lack thereof — “within a couple of weeks.”

That’s good news for college football fans who are hoping to wrap up this string of conference realignment sooner rather than later.

“There’s no hard deadline related to any of this, but I would say I don’t think it’s good for college athletics given the vibration that’s going on as a result of the Texas and Oklahoma news,” Kliavkoff said in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “The quicker we can dampen the vibration, the better. We will have a decision on whether we intend to expand or not in the next couple of weeks.”

Several of the remaining eight schools in the Big 12 could make sense for the Pac-12, including Oklahoma State, TCU an Texas Tech.

There’s been little movement with the Big Ten as it relates to potential expansion. The Big Ten and the ACC are already at 14 schools, while the Pac-12 sits at 12.

The Big Ten, ACC and Pac-12 will reportedly formalize their reported “alliance” in the near future as well.
