Urban Meyer at Ohio State and Scott Frost of Nebraska are two guys with really big numbers, though they don’t come anywhere close to Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher. Meyer is the only B1G coach to exceed $30 million and Frost isn’t far behind at $25 million.

Jeff Brohm at Purdue and Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz are the only other two with buyouts exceeding a $20 million total.

On the other end, Maryland’s DJ Durkin and Indiana’s Tom Allen are two of the cheapest coaches to be replaced. And Paul Chryst of Wisconsin and Mark Dantonio at Michigan State seem low, too. Northwestern’s Pat Fitzgerald has an unknown buyout, as he’s employed by a private institution.

Here’s a look at the B1G buyout totals from USA Today:

  • Urban Meyer, Ohio State: $38.05 million
  • Scott Frost, Nebraska: $25.41 million
  • Kirk Ferentz, Iowa: $22.39 million
  • Jeff Brohm, Purdue: $21. 51 million
  • James Franklin, Penn State: $18.37 million
  • Jim Harbaugh, Michigan: $17.11 million
  • Lovie Smith, Illinois: $12.63 million
  • Chris Ash, Rutgers: $10.35 million
  • P.J. Fleck, Minnesota: $9.29 million
