Saturday’s big game in Ann Arbor is going to play a key factor in both divisional races moving forward.

Kirk Ferentz and the undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes are heading to a conference showdown with Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines. Though the two schools do not play every year, they have played some intense games over the years.

For Iowa, a win against Michigan on the road would show the Hawkeyes are the real deal in the B1G West race. Keeping a perfect conference record is key with crucial divisional matchups still to come. A loss would give Iowa an early handicap with Wisconsin playing well.

For Michigan, a win would be a nice rebound statement for Harbaugh and company. The Wolverines did win over Rutgers last week, but this will be the first true test since a loss to Wisconsin two weeks ago. Another loss would all but eliminate Michigan from the B1G East race, barring some crazy outcomes.

While this year’s contest is expected to be another tight one in the series, the computer prediction put out by Odds Shark does have a clear winner. Though Michigan will enter as a -3.5 favorite at home, the projection has Iowa winning by 3.5 on the road:
