WATCH: After drilling 56-yard FG to upset Purdue, Nevada kicker awarded scholarship
Friday night will be day Brandon Talton remembers for a long time.
The freshman kicker from Nevada came through in a clutch moment on Friday night, nailing a 56-yard field goal attempt to finish off a 17-point comeback and defeat Purdue 34-31. That, alone, is enough to be a day to remember for the Wolf Pack kicker.

But the night didn’t end there. After the game, Nevada head coach Jay Norvell presented the freshman kicker with the game ball…and a scholarship. That gave players in the locker room multiple reasons to celebrate.

Talton finished the day making both of his field goal attempts and converted on all four of Nevada’s extra point tries in the season opener. Not bad for a kid in a kicking competition earlier this year.
