The Big Ten season officially kicks off on Friday night, and there are new conference championship odds for fans who want to get in on the action before the 2020 campaign starts.

These odds are courtesy of BetOnline:

Ohio State is still a heavy favorite at 4/15, the Penn State and Wisconsin trailing behind at +5o0.

It’s not hard to see why the Buckeyes are favorites — the routinely sign the best recruiting class in the conference and have a Heisman Trophy finalist returning at quarterback in Justin Fields.

Still, there will be questions asked of Ohio State before the season is over. How will the Buckeyes replace Chase Young? Can Fields improve upon what he showed last season? Who steps in for Jeff Okudah and JK Dobbins?

Perhaps the best value on this list is Minnesota at +2000. Earlier on Thursday, FOX analyst Joel Klatt picked the Gophers to beat out Wisconsin for the Big Ten West crown.

The Badgers, along with Iowa, Michigan and Penn State, could also be there in the end.

If it is Ohio State that comes out of the East, it wouldn’t have to face one of the Big Ten West favorites until the Big Ten Championship game in December.

While most of the Big Ten gets underway on Saturday, the first conference game of the season will take place between Wisconsin and Illinois on Friday night in Madison.
