Illinois is 5-4 overall right now. The Fighting Illini were 2-4 and 0-3 in Big Ten play just a few weeks ago.

Three weeks have passed, though. And Illinois has won three straight games. The team’s defense has truly started to play not only well, but play “Lovie Ball.”

Lovie Ball consists of creating turnovers among other things. And, Illinois has thrived because of those turnovers. In fact, just in B1G play alone, the Fighting Illini’s defense has scored five touchdowns this season.

It let us all know that fact on Twitter:

But, that’s not all that became known. It also became known that in B1G play, Northwestern has only scored four touchdowns and Rutgers has scored three. Illinois’ defense has scored more times.

Just a little shade thrown by Illinois. Nothing to see here!

Well, unless you’re Northwestern or Rutgers. Then there’s something to see.
