Illinois is going for its third straight win in a season that the team has been without arguably its best player in Bobby Roundtree.

The defensive lineman sustained a serious spinal cord injury during the offseason and has been out of action all fall. Roundtree had 17.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks over his first two seasons with the Illini.

Throughout the year, Illinois fans and players have done their best to lift up Roundtree and keep him in their thoughts and prayers. Most recently, Illinois established a GoFundMe to raise support for the injured player.

“Hello Illini nation! I’ve been seeing all the love and the tweets, thank you,” said Roundtree. “Recovery’s going well. I love seeing my boys out there balling out…Let’s have a great end to the season, I-L-L.”

It is good to see the young player doing well. Hopefully, he continues to make progress in his recovery.
