Indiana may have lost to Ohio State Saturday, but the Hoosiers recorded a big win on the recruiting trail Sunday.

It began with Sunday afternoon’s report that 4-star RB Sampson James had decommitted from Ohio State. There was no immediate announcement made as to James’ new destination, though many speculated that he would remain in state with the Hoosiers.

Well, that is exactly what happened, as James announced Sunday evening that he is now committed to Indiana. In a note on Twitter, James thanked those closest to him throughout the “crazy process” while saying he is “excited to become a part of a great program.”

This is absolutely a big win for the Hoosiers. He is listed as the No. 8 running back in the country for the class of 2018 and the No. 3 player from the state of Indiana on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 211 lbs., James has the tools to develop into a complete back at the next level.
