Indiana basketball is a finalist for 5-star forward Mackenzie Mgbako.

College basketball insider Andrew Slater reported that news on Tuesday afternoon. Mgbako is also still considering Kansas.

Mgbako is arguably the top-remaining uncommitted player in the class of 2023. He previously signed with Duke, but backed off of that commitment earlier this offseason.

Instead, Mgbako will attend either Indiana or Kansas. He’s currently ranked as the No. 8 overall player and the No. 2 power forward in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Mgbako visited IU’s campus last week. He would be a major addition for the Hoosiers in the class of 2023.

Indiana has commitments from 2 high school prospects in the class of 2023 so far: 4-star point guard Gabe Cupps and 4-star combo guard Jakai Newton.

Indiana also been active in the transfer portal so far this offseason. The Hoosiers have picked 3 transfer commitments so far. That group is led by former Oregon center Kel’el Ware.
