Indiana picked up a huge commitment for its 2022 class on Friday morning.
3-star defensive end Richard Thomas committed to the Hoosiers. He made the announcement on Twitter:

Thomas is a very interesting prospect in the 2022 class. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he’s the No. 399 player in the country and the No. 26 strong side defensive end.
Thomas is from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He’s the first recruit from Florida to pick the Hoosiers since 2019, when Tom Allen signed five players from the Sunshine State. IU also picked up eight commitments from Florida in the 2018 class, so Thomas represents a return to that pipeline for Indiana.
According to 247Sports, Thomas also has offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Arkansas, Auburn and many other programs.
Indiana has been reinforcing its pass rush this week. On Thursday, the Hoosiers picked up a commitment from Auburn defensive end transfer Jaren Handy.
IU now has three commitments for the class of 2022. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, the class ranks No. 55 nationally and No. 11 in the Big Ten. The Early Signing Period is in December.
