Michael Penix Jr. has wasted no time making an impact in his first start back from injury.

Penix began the year as Indiana’s starting quarterback, but he has missed some time due to an undisclosed injury. After entering Week 5 as a game-time decision, he was cleared and started on the road against Michigan State.

He has been very effective with the Hoosiers offense. Just after the start of the fourth quarter, Penix has helped Indiana put up 24 points against Michigan State’s stout defense. A lot of that work has come via Penix’s arm.

Penix has thrown for 269 yards and 2 TDs to this point in the contest, and in that stretch is a new school record for consecutive completions. According to Indiana Football, Penix’s 20th straight completion set a school record for the Hoosiers.
