Head coach Tom Allen also announced that Michael Penix Jr. will be the starting quarterback for the Hoosiers, dethroning incumbent Peyton Ramsey. It was a competition that lasted all August.
Penix brings a little more athleticism to the position and may be the better fit in Kalen DeBoer’s system.

Another interesting tidbit is that former four-star running back and ex-Ohio State commit Sampson James doesn’t appear to be one of the top three backs for the Hoosiers just yet.
Indiana is coming off back-to-back 5-7 seasons and is hoping to return to bowl eligibility.
