Indiana starting forward becomes fourth Hoosier to hit transfer portal in two weeks
There are now four Indiana basketball players with their names in the NCAA transfer portal.
Just a few hours after Jeff Goodman reported that Parker Stewart entered his name into the database, Indianapolis Star’s Zach Osterman reported that starting forward Race Thompson will also be exploring his options outside of Bloomington. That brings IU’s total up to four players in the portal.
Earlier this week Armaan Franklin entered his name in the portal. Last week, Al Durham announced his intentions to leave Bloomington. All four have entered the portal since the school decided to fire head coach Archie Miller.
Program source confirms redshirt junior forward Race Thompson has entered the transfer portal. Started every game for the Hoosiers this winter. Second player in the portal today, third in the last two days. #iubb

All four would have the opportunity to return to Indiana if that was their best option.
Thompson was a do-it-all player for the Hoosiers who brought plenty of energy to the floor. He averaged 9.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 51.5% on the season. The Minnesota native just completed his junior year with IU.
At times throughout the year, Thompson played through injury. He was known for his toughness and making significant contributions on both ends of the floor this past season.
Indiana ended the season with a 12-15 record, missing the NCAA Tournament once again.
