Indiana received some good news late Monday night, as one of the team’s top offensive players announced he’ll be returning for the 2020 season.

Top wide receiver Whop Philyor announced via Twitter Monday night that he would be coming back to Bloomington for the 2020 campaign. He had been debating a potential departure to the NFL following a breakout season in 2019.

Philyor released a detailed statement, saying there is a lot the Hoosiers have yet to accomplish and he wants to be part of the team. Below is the tweet the IU receiver sent out:

Last season, Philyor excelled in Kalen DeBoer’s offense. He was one of just four B1G receivers to finish the year with over 1,000 yards, ending the season with 1,002 yards on 70 catches. He also had five touchdown receptions for the year.

His production helped get Indiana to an 8-5 record this season, the highest win total the program has enjoyed since 1993. The Hoosiers also played in their first bowl game since 2016, appearing in the Gator Bowl.

Prior to last year, Philyor had totaled 570 yards and four touchdowns on 56 catches in his first two seasons with Indiana.
