It might have cost Indiana the game.

After the Hoosiers scored a touchdown with over three minutes left to make the score 20-17, Indiana attempted an onside kick to try and get the ball back and score again. It appeared as though the kick worked to perfection, as the ball bounced of the hands of a Michigan player and wound up in the arms of Indiana’s Simmie Cobbs Jr.

But Cobbs was ruled out of bounds and didn’t possess control of the ball. The ball was retained by the Wolverines and forced the IU defense to get a stop.

Though the Hoosiers did get the ball back and were able to send the game into overtime with a Griffin Oakes field goal, recovering the kick could’ve changed Indiana’s entire offensive approach in the final three minutes.

It’s awfully close. What do you think?

Did the officials make the correct call, or was Indiana jobbed?
