Kirk Ferentz talks changes to the offense, improvements in rushing game
The Iowa Hawkeyes have had a problem this year. The defense has been stout.
However, the offense has been inconsistent. There have been times where it has hit and Iowa looks like a complete football team. But then, there have been times this season where the offense lays a dud and loses a game 10-3 (see Michigan).

In the game after the loss to Michigan, Iowa followed it up with a 17-12 loss to Penn State. Now, as it stands, the Hawkeyes are 5-2. The team was 4-2 prior to a 26-20 win over Purdue this past week.
On Tuesday, during Hawkeye coach Kirk Ferentz’s weekly press conference, he talked about the offense as a whole and the improvements he’s seen:
Ferentz on TE usage: Not going to change the offense, but would love to get more in pass game from Wieting, Beyer if opportunities are there.

Ferentz on rushing game: "I think things looked a little more cohesive with our blocking." Thought Alaric Jackson looked sharper vs. Purdue

We’ll see if the Hawkeyes look better running the ball and what it can get from their tight ends in the passing game this Saturday when the team travels to take on a struggling Northwestern team. Iowa will then have a bye on Nov. 2.
