Leshon Williams torches Wisconsin, opens scoring with 82-yard TD
Leshon Williams and Iowa are on the road facing Wisconsin in the Heartland Trophy rivalry game. The Hawkeyes were dealt an early blow in the matchup with star tight end Erick All leaving the game with an ugly-looking injury.
The Hawkeyes might be without some key playmakers on the road, but Williams is looking strong and healthy against the Badgers. His number was called on a short 3rd-and-2 play, and Williams delivered in a big way.
After one Badger broke through in the backfield, Williams made the first defender miss with a stutter-step. He made another man miss in the second level before exploding down the sideline.
After that, it was off to the races, and Wisconsin never had a chance of tracking him down. Williams rolled all the way for an 82-yard score to give Iowa an early 7-0 lead in Madison.

So far, Iowa and Wisconsin are locked in a tight defensive battle as expected, and points are likely to be at a premium all game long. Williams’ run is a big one no matter when it comes, and it’s certainly a massive score in this type of matchup.
