TJ Hockenson has been off to a less than ideal start in 2022 with just 10 receptions for 82 yards  receiving and a score. Detroit Lions’ fans and fantasy owners alike have been waiting for a Hockenson breakout year since he came into the league.

Hockenson has had some solid campaigns. In 2020, he had 723 yards and 6 touchdowns. In 2021, Hockenson had 583 yards and 4 touchdowns. However, he has not lived up the hype of his 8th-overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

This season has been especially slow with just 8 yards per catch, but Hockenson feels optimistic about brighter things ahead this season per Jeanna Trotman of WXZY Detroit.

“I’m taking it as play-by-play and day-by-day,” Hockenson said. “I’m showing what I can do out here in practice, and in game. I’m making sure that everybody around, including the quarterback knows when I’m open.”

Hockenson will look for opportunities to prove himself in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday on a 1 p.m. EST kickoff.
