Maryland just produced a first quarter for the ages in the Music City Bowl, and the Terrapins did it all without star quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa.

Facing Auburn, Maryland is rolling with a combination of Billy Edwards Jr. and Cameron Edge after Tagovailoa opted out of the bowl. The duo has clicked in the first half with both tossing a touchdown in the first quarter.

Edwards started the game and got things rolling with a huge pickup to Roman Hemby before punching in a short touchdown run. He would later add on with a 5-yard touchdown toss to Preston Howard.

Edge was not to be outdone. He took advantage of his first snaps with the offense, hitting Kaden Prather for a 57-yard pickup before a short passing touchdown of his own.

At the end of the first quarter, the Terps were up 21-0 with Edge and Edwards combining to go 7-for-11 throwing the ball for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns. Edwards also has the rushing touchdown to his credit with Maryland putting Auburn on the ropes early on.
