Return of 'Terps Script': Maryland unveils throwback-inspired uniform for season opener
Maryland is hoping Year 3 of the Mike Locksley era can inspire a revival. To kick off the 2021 campaign, Maryland is paying homage to its glorious past.
Maryland will rock a 1980s era Terps Script throwback when they take the field vs. West Virginia on Sept. 4 (3:30 p.m. EST/ESPN).
The program unveiled the combination in a video Friday morning:

Now that’s a good-looking uniform.
The throwback set comes on the 25th anniversary of Under Armour and will be replete with some snazzy red helmets and red pants. The throwback will also feature elements to represent the future.

During the original run in the uniforms, Maryland captured three consecutive ACC titles from 1983-1985.
Maryland is coming off a 2-3 record in the shortened 2020 campaign and is projected as the nation’s 57th best team, according to Athlon Sports. The Terrapins have not had a winning season since 2014.
