Aidan Hutchinson could’ve made the decision to enter the NFL Draft after the 2020 college football season. Instead, the Michigan defensive lineman decided to spend one more year in Ann Arbor.

During the offseason, Jim Harbaugh says he’s been really impressed with how Hutchinson has responded after suffering an injury last fall.

Hutchinson sustained a broken ankle last year and has been working hard to do as much as possible during the offseason and in spring practice even though he’s not at full strength. In an episode of the In the Trenches podcast with Jon Jansen, Harbaugh said Hutchinson has been “unbelievable” so far.

“Not just his decision to come back — but the decision to come back all-in,” Harbaugh said.

“He wants to be great. Wants to be great for Michigan.”

Hutchinson played in three games for the Wolverines last season, totaling 15 stops and 2 quarterback hurries before missing the final three games with the ankle injury. He had a monster year in 2019, responsible for 68 tackles, 10 for loss, 6 pass break-ups, 4.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.

When he’s at full strength, Hutchinson could easily be one of the top defensive linemen in the B1G. That’s what Harbaugh and Michigan are hoping to get from him this fall.
