Cade McNamara provides update following surgery on injured knee
Cade McNamara was hoping to return to the field for Michigan this season. Unfortunately, he will not get that opportunity after undergoing knee surgery.
Recently, McNamara posted a picture to his Instagram stories that appeared to be of the quarterback in a hospital bed awaiting surgery. He confirmed he did, in fact, undergo surgery for his injured knee in a separate post Thursday evening.
According to McNamara, he’s been battling a serious injury since last season. He still maintained a goal of getting back on the field this season after his knee injury but admitted he was unable to heal properly and needed the surgery.
“I want to start off by saying thank you to everyone for all the love and support. Turns out I have been dealing with a serious injury since the middle of last season. Then after suffering another serious knee injury this season, my goal was to get back on the field as soon as possible,” wrote McNamara on Instagram. “Sadly I was unable to heal properly but thanks to Dr. ElAttrache he was able help me determine exactly what I needed to do to come back the best version of myself. What lies ahead is a lot of work and rehab but I will come back better than ever!”

Hopefully, McNamara is able to rehab back into form heading forward. For now, the Wolverines will be without the QB behind JJ McCarthy on the depth chart.
