In Week 9, Michigan rolled to a rivalry win over Michigan State in the Big House. While tensions were mostly held in check on the field for most of the night, things have boiled over in the tunnel following the game.

According to multiple reports — including Chris Solari with the Detroit Free Press — players from Michigan State and a player from the Wolverines were engaged in an altercation in the tunnel. Matt Carboneau also provided footage on Twitter of the confrontation.

According to Chris Solari, the Michigan player involved was wearing a No. 1 jersey. The incident reportedly took place as most of Michigan’s team was still on the field.

In the aftermath, Mel Tucker and Jim Harbaugh were both seen trying to corral their players and get them to their respective locker rooms. It will be interesting to see how the coaches address this matter after the game.

According to reports, Michigan had beefed up security for the tunnel and altered halftime procedures to try and prevent anything fishy from happening in the tunnel. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that helped after the game.
