Michigan was eliminated from the Big Ten Tournament in a 68-67 loss to Ohio State on Saturday afternoon.

Shortly after the game ended, Maryland’s Darryl Morsel — who has a complicated recent history with the Wolverines — fired a shot at Michigan.

Morsell suffered a significant facial injury in a game against Michigan earlier this season. He ended up having to have surgery to repair the injury.

He went on to have a successful season with the Terps, and was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year earlier this month.

That accolade turned out to be ammunition for Michigan center Hunter Dickinson, who quickly fired back at Morsell’s insult.

That stat line for Michigan guard Mike Smith is from the Wolverines’ 79-66 win over Maryland in yesterday’s Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal. Morsell scored 16 points in the game, but it wasn’t enough to keep things close.

This continues a rather unexpected feud between Michigan and Maryland. Coaches Juwan Howard and Mark Turgeon got into it during yesterday’s game, resulting in Howard’s ejection.

Both teams are expected to be in the field of 68 when brackets are revealed on Sunday.
