Jim Harbaugh praised his QB1 Sunday afternoon once it was revealed that Michigan would be taking on TCU in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff in just under a month.

Harbaugh noted that JJ McCarthy, who took over for Cade McNamara early in the season, is hardly ever rattled, even more impressive when you remember he is only a sophomore.

Here are Harbaugh’s full comments on QB1.

“The thing I haven’t seen is him ever get nervous.,” Harbaugh said. “I have never seen this kid rattled, shaken, nervous in any way shape or form. It’s just been phenomenal, 13 wins, 13-0, first year as a starter. Can’t say enough good things about JJ McCarthy and the kind of season he’s had.”

McCarthy has led the Wolverines to their 2nd straight College Football Playoff berth, an undefeated season and has looked good while doing it. McCarthy has thrown for 2,376 yards, 20 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions this season.

Let’s see what he can do next.
