Jim Harbaugh is once again engaging in his annual song and dance with the NFL. Though Harbaugh tried to affirm his long-term commitment to Michigan after interviews with the Minnesota Vikings last season, he reportedly had a conversation with the owner of the Carolina Panthers regarding their head coaching vacancy.

While the report made it clear Harbaugh did not have an official interview f the Carolina job, it is notable that he had a conversation at all after last season. Now, he’s responded to the conversation.

In a conversation with Queen City News, Harbaugh admitted no one knows the future but thinks he will be in Ann Arbor coaching the Wolverines in 2023.

“Although no one knows the future I think I will be coaching Michigan next year,” said Harbaugh per Will Kunkel with Charlotte Sports Live.

While Harbaugh has revealed what he expects, it’s worth noting his tune has slightly changed from a month ago. In December, Harbaugh said people that are pleased with his performance in Ann Arbor will “be very happy to learn that I’ll be back, enthusiastically, coaching the Wolverines in 2023.”

We’ll see what happens this offseason.
