Jim Harbaugh is still fuming over a holding penalty against Karan Higdon. The Michigan head coach didn’t hold back when expressing his frustration, either.

In Saturday’s game against Northwestern, the running back was flagged for holding, which is a pretty common penalty. The problem? Higdon faked a handoff and was tackled on the play.

FOX Sports broadcaster Joel Klatt called it a “call from Mars.” Harbaugh referred to it as a “phantom” penalty after the game. But on Wednesday morning, he had even more to say about it.

Harbaugh didn’t hold back when talking about the call on the Jamie and Stoney Show.

“I’d say it’s the worst call in the history of college football since 1869,” Harbaugh said. He also mentioned that the B1G didn’t have much of an explanation for the call.

Earlier this week, Higdon himself tried to explain the call but was at a loss for words. He said he had seen it multiple times on social media and doesn’t “know how that happens.”

Michigan ended up pulling off the comeback victory, defeating Northwestern 20-17 to improve to 4-1 on the year and 2-0 in the B1G.

It doesn’t seem like Harbaugh is quite over the call, though. And who could blame him? It’s truly one of the most bizarre penalties we’ve ever seen.
