LOOK: Michigan has trouble spelling Shea Patterson's name on awards graphic
Everyone makes a mistake every now and then. Unfortunately, one of Michigan’s mistakes went public on Sunday night as the Wolverines announced their team awards for the 2018 season.
Michigan handed out awards in multiple categories Sunday night, which included the Offensive Player of the Year Award. That honor was presented to quarterback Shea Patterson, who was one of the B1G’s top gunslingers this fall.
To celebrate all of the award winners, Michigan published tweets with special graphics to honor each player. But there was a big problem with Patterson’s graphic.
His name was spelled incorrectly.
The graphic forgot a “T,” making him “Shea Paterson.”
It happens, but it’s still pretty funny that Michigan misspelled one of the more common names on the roster.
Patterson had a great season for the Wolverines, throwing for 2,364 yards and 21 touchdowns this season. He also had 268 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. With his name mentioned so often throughout the season, you’d think the spelling would become second nature.
