Michigan adds commitments from 4-star defensive duo to class of 2022
It is not even 11 am EST, and Friday has already provided big dividends for Michigan’s 2022 recruiting class.
In fact, one of Jim Harbaugh’s key offseason hirings is already coming up big. Toward the end of January, Harbaugh hired Maurice Linguist away from the Dallas Cowboys to coach DBs at Michigan. Linguist will also go down as the primary recruiter to two of Michigan’s newest commits for the class of 2022.
Those recruits are Taylor Groves out of Cross Plains, Tennessee, and Kody Jones out of Germantown, Tennessee. Both are rated as four-star recruits for the class of 2022.
Here are the decisions both players shared on Twitter:

Groves is rated as the No. 16 safety nationally and the No. 6 player out of Tennessee for the cycle. Jones is listed as the No. 15 athlete nationally and No. 9 player out of Tennessee. Steve Wiltfong with 247 Sports indicated Jones is projected to play cornerback at the next level.
Considering the results of 2020 and staff upheaval for Harbaugh entering 2021, it is a good sign to see some momentum building heading into the offseason. Hopefully this staff can do good things on the field while building an elite recruiting class for 2022.
