Michigan assistant coach on LB Josh Uche, expanding his role: 'We don’t have any issue playing him every down in a game'
Last season, Josh Uche was unbelievably efficient.
Uche, a LB at Michigan, recorded just 13 total tackles. Not that impressive, right?
Well, of those 13 tackles, Uche had seven sacks and eight tackles for loss. Again, he was efficient beyond belief.
Uche’s time for a bigger role is probably here now in 2019. He was behind Noah Furbush — which Uche said on Monday — but Furbush is no longer in the way. The time to unleash Uche in a bigger way is now.
New Michigan LBs coach Anthony Campanile spoke with the media on Monday and talked about increasing Uche’s usage:
“We don’t have any issue playing him every down in a game,” Campanile said. “He’s a great pass-rusher, as people know, but he’s also stepped his game up, in my opinion, as a linebacker fitting into the box.”

We’ll get to see exactly how efficient Uche is starting on Aug. 31 when the Wolverines are at home against Middle Tennessee.
