It’s never too early to start identifying talent, and Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is already targeting his quarterback for the 2023 recruiting cycle.

On Tuesday, he reportedly offered a scholarship to a rising eighth-grade quarterback out of Michigan.

Per the Detroit Free-Press, the Wolverines have offered a scholarship to seventh-grade QB Dante Jacob Moore, who is a Southfield resident.

According to the report, Moore’s father said Harbaugh was impressed by his son at a recent football camp:

“(Harbaugh) just said he had heard word about him and (asked) was I bringing him to the camp,” Otha said. “He was looking forward to meeting him. He has been working out with Devin (Gardner) a lot, as well as Quarterback U. He has been on Devin’s Instagram. I think that’s where Harbaugh saw him.”

This is the second middle-school athlete Harbaugh has offered recently, joining massive Massachusetts LB Tyler Martin.

Obviously, there’s still a long way to go before either player makes a final decision, but it’s never too early to get on a recruit’s radar.
